Abstract

Qiuyan’s broad research interest is in youth’s learning across contexts. For the independent research project, Qiuyan analyzes an informal learning program that engages English learners in scientific sensemaking. The research question that guides Qiuyan’s analysis is - how does the integration of everyday and scientific perspectives (knowledge & practices) shape youth’s understanding about science topics such as weather?
