About
Roshni Bano (she/her) is a postdoctoral research associate at the Department of Chemistry at UIC since March 2021. Roshni spent her undergraduate and graduate academic career training to be a biophysicist. Somewhere along the Ph.D. journey, a desire to bring social justice into her work led to her interest in science education and equity in STEM. The major focus of Roshni’s current work is to understand through interviews how undergraduate students’ linguistic identities influence their STEM learning and navigation of STEM classrooms. Outside of work, Roshni likes to cook, garden and explore the city of Chicago, often by bike.
