About

Fati is a second-year doctoral student at the Learning Sciences Research Institute. She joined the Ryu group in Fall 2023. Her interests include interactional analysis of both formal and informal learning environments. Particularly, she is interested in research on the impact of professional development programs for educators to improve STEM educational outcomes. To address this critical national goal, she’s currently working on NSF-funded projects with a focus on feedback engagement and meaning negotiation to enhance teachers’ learning and students’ STEM literacy. In summer 2024, Fati submitted a conference proposal to American Educational Research Association, the largest professional organization in the United States that represents educational researchers around the world. Currently, she is taking the lead for developing a manuscript for journal publication to disseminate findings from the data analysis. Outside of research, Fati enjoys walking, jogging and exploring new places!
